Meet Your Counselors

Jessica Cooper LPC, RS

Jessica Cooper

HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Mrs. Cooper is returning for her fifth year at Elevate Academy as the high school counselor. After a career working at non-profit organizations, mental health treatment, and working in traditional school districts, she’s found her home at Elevate Academy serving students and families. She specializes in substance abuse/mental health treatment, community health education, and has worked at the university level teaching academic skills. She enjoys working with students who are pursuing non-traditional paths after high school, are interested in skilled trades, and helping students and families facilitate hope for themselves. Every student should have the support and opportunity to pursue their own unique path. Her daily focus is working with students to be successful in the school and work environments, helping students obtain internships and work study, earn their driver’s licenses, and plan their future careers. She can also provide referrals to community services, help families obtain resources and support during times of need, and she coordinates academics with treatment and job training programs. Mrs. Cooper enjoys doing anything outside, gardening, building, camping, and traveling with her husband and daughter. She can be reached via email at jesscooper@elevate208.org or welcomes walk-ins as necessary.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Mrs. Bishop is in her first year at Elevate as the Middle School Counselor. She previously worked as a high school counselor and a school district social worker. She has spent the last several years supporting students through group therapy, home visits, providing resources to students and their families, as well as “staying hip with the kids”. She’s not sure how successful she’s been at that last item. Mrs. Bishop believes that it is important for students to dream big and then help them make those dreams a reality. Each day she strives to encourage students to be the best version of themselves; academically, socially, emotionally, and in their relationships. Mrs. Bishop came to Elevate because this school supports students in their academics and also takes a real interest in developing them as individuals. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, and spending time with her family. She can be reached via email at mbishop@elevate208.org or welcomes walk-ins as necessary.
